Grassroots Minds Collective is a community-driven mental-health education platform founded by two dedicated professionals, Betty Mosier-Johnson, MSN, RN, PMH-BC, and Shani Berrios, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC. Born from frustration with bureaucratic constraints and recent attacks on cultural humility in healthcare, the Collective delivers evidence-based, holistic learning directly to individuals and communities—no gatekeeping, no jargon. Inspired by grassroots movements of the past, we offer bite-sized micro-lectures, in-depth workshops, hands-on simulations (from dementia walkthroughs to hearing-voices experiences), and comprehensive toolkits that deepen understanding and reduce stigma.
Our mission is to:
Empower learners of all backgrounds with accessible, trauma-informed mental-health education
Foster cultural humility and awareness of social determinants of health
Provide interactive simulations and practical exercises to reinforce learning
Cultivate supportive communities where sharing experiences is both safe and healing
Whether you’re preparing for exams, facilitating a workshop, or simply expanding your knowledge—from therapeutic communication through the grief process—Grassroots Minds Collective offers free and paid pathways to learning.
